Region has right stuff to be leader in stem cells

One legacy of modern medicine’s success is that our society has grown older. As an inevitable consequence, every person will eventually suffer from, or will know someone who suffers from, a debilitating disease. With that bleak prospect looming as a certainty, a revolution in medicine, organized under the broad banner of regenerative medicine, is seeking to improve our collective fate. Regenerative medicine aims at replacing lost or damaged cells, either by introducing new cells into the body or by spurring the body into creating new cells on is own.
