University of Washington stem cell research in limbo

The University of Washington could be hit hard by a recent court ruling that halted federal funding for human embryonic stem cell research.

UW scientists stand to lose at least $16 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health over the next five to six years unless the court decision is reversed, according to a preliminary review by the university.
