Freda Miller is currently a Professor in the Michael Smith Laboratories and Dept. of Medical Genetics at University of British Columbia, as well as an Adjunct Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children and Professor (status-only) at the University of Toronto.  Her laboratory has a long-standing interest in stem cell-mediated tissue development and repair, and in this regard her talk will focus on their recent studies characterizing and understanding one of the few true examples of multi-tissue mammalian regeneration, the regenerating adult murine digit tip.
