Since their introduction in 2006, human iPSCs have enabled a generation of lineage-specific cell lines and organoids. However, bridging in vitro findings to whole-organism outcomes remains slow. Supported by an ISCRM Fellowship, Divya Avnoor aims to establish a zebrafish iPSC platform to directly connect stem cell based assays with in vivo validation in the same species. The success of this project will provide a novel research model to assess therapeutic efficacy and have applications to emerging fields, like cultivated meat.
